Cylinders, vessels, concentrators and accessories

Cylinders for compressed gas come in the form of aluminum cylinders with integrated valves, and in the form of older models made of steel. Vessels for gas in liquid form include 20 or 30 liter containers for oxygen treatment in the home, as well as portable refillable thermoses. It also includes vessels for liquid nitrogen.
Oxygen concentrators are available as stationary and portable models and is an oxygen source that concentrates the oxygen from air in the room.

For treatment in the home, at hospitals and in ambulances we can offer a lightweight cylinder with integrated valve pressure regulator called LIV® (Linde Integrated Valve). It is designed to help healthcare staff work more effectively. There’s no change of regulators, no set up or handling of high filling pressure, and as such, no interruption to patient care.
Pressure is precisely released and controlled. And with more flow settings, you can set the treatment exactly to meet patient needs.
With the integrated regulator, you get low constant outlet pressure and flow selections precisely to your requirements.
A large flow range means a more exact flow can be prescribed to suit the patient need. With the active pressure gauge and clear displays, you always know precisely what’s in the cylinder.
LIV® cylinders are used for treatment with medical oxygen, medical air and LIVPAN (50/50 mixture of nitrous oxide and oxygen).

LIV® IQ – the intelligent oxygen cylinder with digital display. This cylinder has the same qualities as the traditional LIV® cylinder, but LIV® IQ also calculates the remaining time according to the gas content in the cylinder and the set flow rate. The result is displayed on a large and clear digital display together with the gas level, the set flow rate and condition icons. With this new generation of valves and integrated pressure regulators, Linde Healthcare is moving mobile oxygen therapy into the digital age and LIV® IQ will set a benchmark within this treatment setting.

Nitrogen has various medical uses, especially in liquid form when it provides temperatures as low as -196°C. Applications of nitrogen in the healthcare environment may include the following:

•In cryopreservation for the long-term preservation of blood, blood components, other cells, body fluids or tissue samples.
•In cryosurgery for minor surgical procedures in dermatology.
•As a component in many gas mixtures.

Linde Healthcare offers vessels for transportation and preservation for rent. We have two types of vessels: open thermos vessels and closed low pressure vessels.
It is absolutely necessary to use personal protective equipment when handling liquid nitrogen.

Central gas equipment

All Swedish hospitals have some form of centralised gas system to ensure a safe and economical gas supply.
Central gas equipment is an important part of the whole supply system for medical gases. The gas is supplied from a tank, cylinder bundles or a cylinder through medical gas pipes out to the gas outlets throughout the hospital.
